American Heroes Equine Connection, Incorporated is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit built to honor the people who served — and to steward the resources our donors entrust to us.
Mission Statement
American Heroes Equine Connection, Incorporated is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that provides equine-assisted therapy, ranching, and farming education for veterans, first responders, and their families, fostering healing, resilience, mental well-being, and personal growth through connection and practical skills.
Charity Purpose
Our nonprofit provides equine therapy programs specifically tailored to help veterans and first responders overcome the challenges associated with PTSD, physical injuries, and social isolation. Many veterans return from service facing significant difficulties as they try to adapt to civilian life. PTSD, physical limitations, and the sense of isolation that often accompanies the transition out of the military can make it difficult for them to find a sense of belonging.
At American Heroes Equine Connection, Inc., we address these needs through a multi-faceted approach. Horses, as sensitive and social animals, have an extraordinary ability to sense emotions, making them perfect companions for veterans and first responders working through trauma and loss. Equine therapy provides veterans and first responders with a unique outlet to process difficult emotions, rebuild self-esteem, and develop coping skills in a supportive, nonjudgmental environment.
Education
We also provide educational programs where veterans and first responders learn about horse care, stable management, and basic equestrian skills. By learning these skills, veterans gain a practical education that fosters a sense of responsibility and offers them new opportunities for engagement. Many veterans and first responders discover that caring for a horse is a rewarding responsibility — one that offers a sense of accomplishment and structure.
In addition, these skills are often transferable, equipping veterans with knowledge that can be applied in other areas of life or employment. Our educational programs are not only beneficial for the individual veteran and first responder but also for the community. Veterans and first responders who gain skills in stable management, horse care, and related fields are empowered to contribute positively to society — whether by volunteering, seeking employment, or engaging in community equestrian events.
Public Benefit
Our services are available to veterans and first responders in need, regardless of background or financial status. American Heroes Equine Connection, Inc. is committed to removing financial barriers that might prevent veterans and first responders from accessing these valuable therapeutic resources. By providing free or low-cost access to equine therapy programs, we ensure that all veterans and first responders, regardless of their financial situation, can benefit from our services.
In doing so, we aim to reach veterans and first responders who may feel overlooked or underserved and provide them with a safe, welcoming space for healing. Our programs are designed to be inclusive, so veterans and first responders from diverse backgrounds and with different needs can find the support they need.

They work diligently to oversee our programs, ensuring that our resources are used effectively and ethically.

Indiana Compliance
In Indiana, we are especially focused on supporting local veterans and first responders by offering equine therapy sessions at no cost. Our organization is committed to being a vital resource for veterans and first responders in our community, providing them with the tools they need to manage their mental health and reintegrate into society successfully.
